That Pillow Thing

About

That Pillow Thing™ came to me in a marshmallow dream…

Gemma Jensen – inventor of That Pillow Thing™

Ever since I can remember, I’ve always had trouble sleeping. I would lie in bed for hours at night, tossing and turning until eventually nodding off, only to be woken again at random times throughout the night. When the alarm went off in the morning, I would feel absolutely exhausted and didn’t know how I would get through the day.

I had a suspicion my pillow was the culprit but couldn’t work out what was wrong. I’d spent a fortune on pillows over the years searching for the ‘perfect one’ but none of them quite hit the mark.

I found that if I had the right support for my neck, there would be too much padding for my head. But if I had the right amount of padding for my head, there wouldn’t be enough support for my neck…

Marshmallow dream

Then, after one particularly restless night, I had a really bizarre dream where a row of marshmallows were biting the edge of my pillow (crazy I know, but it was a dream).

Still in that dream, I then lay down so my head rested on the pillow and the marshmallows were positioned underneath my neck. Strangely enough, I dreamt it felt really comfortable.

In the morning, while reflecting on this surreal dream (and wondering whether it had been triggered by my sweet tooth), a Eureka moment suddenly hit me – that’s exactly what my pillow needs! Obviously not a row of marshmallows but something that would encase the edge of my pillow and provide an extra layer of support directed at just my neck area.

Research stage

I then spent the following months making hundreds of prototypes. I bought numerous memory foam pillows and used an electric carving knife to hollow out an arc shape at the pillow’s edges (don’t try this at home!).

I experimented with different types of foam densities until I found one that was both soft and supportive – and felt just like a marshmallow.

The dream becomes a reality – That Pillow Thing™

Finally, I came up with the product as it is today. Since nothing like it has existed before, we didn’t know what to call it. We’d always referred to it as ‘That Pillow Thing’ and so the name eventually stuck.

When I first started using That Pillow Thing™ I noticed an immediate improvement. It instantly made my pillow much more comfortable, which helped me fall asleep quicker. I also seemed to sleep deeper and for longer too. I think this was because my body wasn’t constantly waking me up throughout the night to adjust incorrect or uncomfortable neck positions.

I now wake up feeling rested and like I have had a proper night’s sleep.

Transform the way you sleep

Not sleeping well is a global problem which can lead to serious long term health problems. There are several factors which can affect sleep but an unsupportive pillow is definitely a contributor. Often, people don’t even realise that their pillow isn’t supporting them the way it should.

That Pillow Thing™ has had such a positive impact on the quality of my sleep that I wanted to share it with everyone. If you are not waking up feeling rested, then I really urge you to give That Pillow Thing™ a try for a few nights and see if it makes a difference. I’m convinced it will transform the way you sleep but if you don’t like it, you are welcome to return it. In fact, I have extended the return’s policy to 90 days to really give you a chance to try it without any pressure.

I sincerely hope That Pillow Thing™ helps you the way it has helped me. If you have any questions, please contact me at gemma@thatpillowthing.com and I will be happy to help.
